So I know that everyone says that when you change your schedule, you’ll eventually get used to it…. how long does that normally take? I relly miss working nights, and I know that soon I will get back into the night schedule, but the next few months might just kill me. I can’t seem to get tired early, and then I have to get up early. I get about 6 hours of sleep a night and I need about 8 or so. I’ll just say that coffee has been my friend at work these past couple of weeks. I’m also glad that I work with people who feel the same way. We are all sleep drunk most of the day. (Don’t worry, we don’t use any sharp objects…. yet) This schedule is also making it hard for me to keep up with the blogging. I get so excited to share things and then I get home and get WAY too sleepy to try and write something. It would probably end up looking like sand script or something similar. Oh well, thank God Redqueen is AMAZING with the Here’s To Ewe blog!
So this week has been a bit slow, but I know that once we start staging the show, we are going to be SUPER busy! All I will say is this, from what I’ve seen, this show is going to be fantastic! I’m so excited to be a part of it! Hurray for fun new adventures!
I decided to make a surprise gift for Redqueen for the Wool Festival since I can’t go. I won’t tell her what it is, but I’ll post pictures as soon as it’s done. I needed to work on a project that I don’t have to think too much about but will be super cool, so I’m going to try something out.I just want to feel like I’m there! I’m so jealous I can’t go. I am sending money down there with her so she can buy me lots of wonderful goodies!
Sadly though, other than work, I’ve been doing nothing else. I’ve worked on my teaching program a little bit. I’ve mostly been doing reading, but it’s not too exciting. I really am getting excited to get the second level so I can learn to design! I’ve been working on somethings this week, but I really need to keep practicing!
Well, it’s off to bed for me. Sorry no pictures this time, but Redqueen put some great stuff on our show notes! Thank you guys again for reading and listening to our Here’s To Ewe! stuff. It’s so exciting to see that we are able to do something that people use and enjoy!

So all I have to say is this, not being able to use the internet at home is HORRIBLE! I’ve been wanting to type up a whole blog, and I haven’t been able to and it’s been KILLING ME! I breathed a sigh of relief when my cousin found her modem and it worked! YAY!!!!! Ok, I think I’m done celebrating…. YAY…. ok now I’m done. 🙂
So I am soooooooo excited about our podcast popularity! Thank you guys for listening and commenting, we love all of you! Redqueen and I had a great time doing this week’s podcast. We hadn’t seen eachother in a week so it was fun to catch up and talk about our knitting projects. It’s nice to talk to someone who doesn’t think I’m wierd for LOVING to knit. I know all of you who read this love it too, but I don’t get to talk to any of you in person so it’s not exactly the same.
So I have to say that my new job is pretty amazing! I think this show is going to be amazing! I can’t wait until we really start the creation process. We were talking today about stuff we were going to do when there wasn’t anything to do, and somehow it came up that I knit. My co-workers seemed interested, so I told them that I actually needed some students to get my teaching hours in for my course, and they asked me to bring in my knitting stuff tomorrow! I’m soooo excited, but now I have to think of a lesson plan for tomorrow… and it’s 11:40 pm! I guess it’s just the basics for now, like casting on and kniting a few rows. Anyway, I might actually be able to finish this course on time after all! HURRAY!
So I’ll post some pictures to this blog. They’ll just be of projects I’ve done thus far so everyone can see and comment to their heart’s content. I think I’ll also put up some pics of my top hat I need help felting. If anyone has any ideas of what I might have doen wrong, please let me know! Redqueen also posted a picture of the dragon shawl I’m making, and if any of you are working on that, please let me know. I NEED HELP!
I will end my blog with this. I feel like my life has put me exactly where I’m supposed to me. I am really enjoying my job so far, and the rest of my life really seems to being going so wonderfully! I couldn’t be happier! Thank you to all of our listeners and supporters! It’s so great to get all of your wonderful comments. We really are having so much fun!
so this was just something I wanted to try out and I REALLY love it! It’s one of my favorite hats I designed.
this is the pinwheel sweater. I love it! I made it for my niece and she looked adorable in it! It’s super easy and very gratifying! I think everyone should try it. You can find the free pattern on raverly.com.
I made the Icuras shawl for my friend for her wedding. Another friend (Echo) made the corset. We thought they looked amazing together so we took this picture.
so this is the hat I need help with. This is before felting. As you can see, it’s HUGE!!!! Thank you Redqueen for being my model!
this is probably after about 7 or 8 washes and it’s still not small enough, well for me at least. I used Patons classic. I don’t know what I did wrong. The only thing I did different than the pattern said was that I used 1 size bigger needle than what it called for. I knit really tight, so I didn’t think it would make a difference. HELP! I think that felting is not my strong point.

So I can’t figure out why, after we record our podcast, I’m exhausted! I feel like I’ve run a marathon. Who would have ever thought that podcasting could wear a girl out! I just know that I sleep really well on Tuesday nights! I guess it’s because I have to think so much on my weekend. Normally I like to leave my brain in bed on my days off. (Doesn’t everyone do that?)
Honestly, I think that this might be one of my favorite episodes so far. I was really excited to talk about everything today. I think it’s because I’ve been working so hard on my swatches, and I’ve learned a lot this week. It’s actually kind of interesting to stop and really pay attention to the way you knit. I’ve been knitting a lot slower just to really pay attention and see how knitting really works. I think that I actually have really nice tension and my stitches are pretty even. I was really proud of my swatches even before I blocked them. I have to admit that I was a bit nervous about knitting my garter stitch swatch purling the whole thing, but I’m really glad I did it. It was really good practice and I think that it really helped me with my purling techniques. I recommend that everyone tries it.
I’m debating picking up my dragon shawl again. I got so frustrated with it that I had to walk away before I burned it. I really want to make this shawl, but I’m not sure if I’m having an issue reading the pattern, or if the pattern is wrong. I feel like I count the stitches per row and I’m right, and then I do one row with a couple different stitches in it and I end up all messed up. I’m pretty sure that I’m knitting the stitches correctly and I end up all off count. UUUUGGGGGHHHH! I just need to pick it back up and get a fresh look at it. Maybe it will just come to be this time and I’ll wonder what was wrong with me before. I hope it happens that way at least.
I’m really looking forward to my last week at work. I’m a bit nervous to start my new job, but I know that it will be wonderful! I guess it’s just hard when you’ve been at the same place for 4 years, it’s hard to think of being anywhere else. I’m really excited to go out dancing on Sunday though. That is going to be sooooo fun! It’s been a long time since my friends and I really just went out on the town. YAY for celebrating my last week!
Well, I guess that’s all for now. I’m going to try to start posting pics on here so everyone who is following my progress on the Teaching Course can see what I’ve been up to. Again, I’m still learning about all this stuff. I’m going to try to do that tomorrow actually. So stay tuned! Please send any comments or questions. I love to hear from people. And if you’ve just stumbled upon my blog and haven’t heard about my podcast, check it out. It’s called Here’s To Ewe. You can find it at herestoewe.wordpress.com. I have a link on my page!

Hello to all the Here’s to Ewe! listeners! Sorry this has taken so long to put up, I tried before and it kept losing my posts! Outrage! Anyway, I think we are working now.
So I’d like to start by applogizing for my brain being on vaction this past podcast. I’ve had some other stuff going on. All good stuff, but it’s been a bit distracting. I just let Redqueen take over this week. I think we had some really good stuff this time though. I know that it was a lot of information, but these were the questions I always asked when I first started knitting. I figure, my questions were and are pretty common. If they aren’t, then they give people things to think about…. and wonder if I’m crazy or not 🙂 Redqueen and I actually really like to help answer questions for people, so if you have any, just let us know. You’re probably not alone wondering about it.
I just started swatching this week. It’s actually very calming right now. I can just sit back and watch TV and knit without really having to pay attention too much. I’m sure it will get harder later, but for now it’s perfect. I still have a lot of reading to do, but it’s coming along. Now, I’m just trying to figure out how to work out the teaching hours…. good grief!
Other than knitting stuff, like I said, things have been a bit crazy with me. I just got hired at a new place, and it’s got my mind all distracted. I’m super excited though. I’ll give more details on the next podcast, but it’s going to be super cool! My time is going to be pretty occupied for awhile, but I know it’s going to be worth it. I’m really start!
Well I’ll post something next week, I hope you enjoyed reading!
